A few words about the 2022 Bologna Children’s Book Fair
- When Pavla joined Albatros Media in January 2020, she was very much looking forward to her first fair, which was about to take place in Bologna. Due to the pandemic, she ended up having to wait 2 years and 3 months for it. Thanks for your patience, Pavla. 😊
- Jana, Tomáš and Pavla took 126 meetings. Every such meeting results in around 20 minutes of follow-up. This makes enough work for 5 working days. (Thank goodness we have the full three for it, and we don’t do anything else!)
- As the main theme of our stand, we chose the book Hand: A Complete Guidebook, and we couldn’t have chosen better! The book’s design certainly attracted attention. What’s more, the jury of the Bologna Ragazzi Award placed it among the BRAW Amazing Bookshelf, the 100 most beautiful books of 2022.
- We drank umpteen cups of coffee, which tasted great everywhere – hotel, petrol station, fair, bar… Did you know that macchiato means ‘stained’? So when you order a macchiato, you get an espresso with a milk stain, and when you order a latte macchiato, you get milk with a coffee stain. For me (Jana), this was a real eye-opener.
