Barbora Kmecová

Barbora illustrates under the pseudonym Bessa. She focuses on vector illustration for editorial, books or products. She loves to draw everything that is moving (or not) and reflects the world around us. The result is mostly crazy dynamic compositions with a pinch of humour and irony. She also enjoys crossing over into other media such as mural, ceramics or animation. She studied printmaking and visual communication at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica. She is currently represented by the Owlillustration agency. She works with diverse local and global clients such as Blinkist, Albatros Media, Forbes Next, Centrum Paraple. She has exhibited her own work several times at the Lustr Illustration Festival in Prague. Among her greatest achievements so far is being shortlisted for the prestigious World Illustration Award 2020. She lives and works in Prague.
