Martin Krkošek (1979) graduated from the Academy of Arts and Crafts in Prague, majoring in illustration and animation. After school, he worked for several years at the Stanica-Žilina Zarečie Cultural Centre, where he ran graphic design courses for children and adults and began his first experiments with screen printing. In 2011, together with his wife, he founded the graphic studio Uutěrky, with which he participated in many festivals of small publishers and printers (Litr, Knihech, Tabook). He also taught at the Žilina High School of Graphic Arts for several years.
At present he cooperates mainly with smaller, alternative publishers from the Czech Republic and Slovakia (Pipasík, Běží liška, E.J. Publishing), but also with larger ones (Albatros, B4U Publishing). Books with his illustrations are often awarded at various competitions and book fairs (Golden Ribbon for the book Poznávej ptáčky).
He lives with his wife Paula, three children and a cat in a straw house on the Czech-Polish-Slovak border in the village of Návsí.
