Elena Maixnerová graduated from the Faculty of Education at Masaryk University in 2016 with a Master’s degree in Secondary School Teacher Education, specialising in Czech language and art education. She began to develop her relationship with film education during her studies, when she started working as a lecturer for informal educational programmes for Kino Art, and reflected her experience in this field in her master’s thesis, in which, among other things, she developed a proposal for a pedagogical and artistic project integrating film and audiovisual education through Něco z Alenky (Jan Švankmajer, 1988) into art lessons. And she has stayed with this topic – she currently works as a teacher at a primary school in Brno-Chrlice, where she teaches Czech language, digital education, drama and especially art education, which she conceives as a space for comprehensive art education, including film education. Her main interests are pedagogy, illustration, drawing, fictional worlds and Dungeons and Dragons.
