Ester Stará

Ester Stará is a special educator, speech therapist and coordinator of inclusive care at a primary school. Her practical experience is reflected in her work for children. In addition to fairy tales and stories, she also writes titles focused on the development of communication skills. She has written scripts and lyrics for theatre performances such as Feel the Feeling, which is loosely based on A Book of Feelings. Titles such as A pak se to stalo, Šedík a Bubi and Jedéééém were included in the international catalogue of The White Ravens, and she has won a Golden Ribbon Award. She is a patron of the Zlaté dítě (Golden Child) reading competition, and shares her teaching and literary experience during visits to Czech schools abroad. I collaborate with a number of illustrators, most often with my husband Milan Starý. He lives in Prague and has three sons.
